St. Louis Hostels
St. Louis hostels offer a great, cheap alternative for your accommodation, so you can enjoy a fantastic St. Louis vacation at a budget price.
If you fancy a bit of St. Louis travel but you’re on a really tight budget, don’t panic, plenty of the attractions in St. Louis are absolutely free, so there are always lots of things to do without spending a dime, and there are some really cheap alternatives in the accommodation department too. How do you fancy a bit of youth hostelling? This wonderful, no frills type of accommodation has really stood the test of time and the great thing is they’re pretty flexible on the "youth" part in most places.
Florida rentals are nowhere near the Gateway arch, but they can help you feel like you’re in a tropical setting. So, perhaps once you’re done with your St. Louis vacation, you can swing down to Florida’s beaches to get out of the muggy weather and get into the…well, more muggy weather. Where you stay can make the difference between having fun and having a less than enjoyable time. When you begin your vacation planning, you need to look for places to stay that are going to help you relax, not make you worry about whether the bedbugs are going to nibble your ankles off.
Some St. Louis Hostels
- The Huckleberry Finn Hostel – in the Soulard Historic district of St. Louis is the "Huck Finn" which can offer you a bed for the night for only $25, of course, you don’t get a room to yourself or en suite facilities (although private rooms are available for those who don’t like to sleep with strangers) but it’s somewhere to have a shower and get your head down. It’s been going since the mid ‘70’s so it’s certainly stood the test of time. You can even take your own sleeping bag if you want to, saving the $5 extra charge for the sheets.
- The Quality Inn Airport can provide you with cheap hostel prices but with clean, private accommodation. $25 per night will get you 3 star amenities including swimming pool, towels, linen and breakfast, you can even take your dog along with you (not sure if he gets breakfast, perhaps you’ll have to sneak some back to your room). It’s only about half a mile from the Lambert International Airport and well placed for you to visit many of the best attractions St. Louis has to offer.
- Comfort Inn and Conference Center, for the perfect mix of business and pleasure (you’re supposed to be on vacation, stop faxing people will you). It’s only a little more at around $32 per night, and for that you get your breakfast, linen and towels plus a heated indoor swimming pool, whirlpool and fitness center right there on site. There’s absolutely no excuse for letting all that good old wholesome St. Louis food sit on your waistline is there? Hard luck, get sweating then swimming, sweating then swimming, that’s how it goes. They are a bit naughty though, handing out delicious warm chocolate chip cookies on check-in is enough to blow even the best of intentions clean out of the window. You are a little further out of town but there’s a convenient Metro link station that’ll have you Downtown St. Louis before you can sing the first verse of "Mississippi".
